With the support of generous grant from the John Templeton Foundation, we are inquiring into the nature and causes of the wealth of nations by drawing on the tools of philosophy, politics and economics. Challenging ideal theories of justice, a now re-emerging field of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) seeks to make philosophical theorizing more relevant in academia and in the larger community by grounding theorizing about justice in a broader, more fundamental framework of theorizing about economics and politics, culture and law, the human condition, and requirements of human nature. We see a historic opportunity to: 1) support a publishing program that helps us not only to continue to mentor a new generation of college teachers, but also to continue to produce the materials that those teachers teach; 2) help to foster a scholarly PPE community of sister organizations emerging around the world; and 3) help to produce new PPE courses and course materials for college and high school students around the world.
