European Master in Law & Economics (EMLE)
A Global Legal-Economic Education
Launched in 1990, EMLE is an interdisciplinary master’s program combining law and economics. Students rotate between multiple universities in Europe — and now, for the first time, in the United States at the University of Arizona.
EMLE is a one-year master’s program where students study across multiple universities in different countries. Each term is hosted at a different location, offering a truly international academic experience.
EMLE brings together universities across Europe — like Rotterdam, Hamburg, Ghent, and Rome — and globally in Mumbai, Haifa, and now Tucson, Arizona. It’s a unique chance to live and learn in multiple cultures.
Students can follow one of three tracks based on their interests: Markets, Corporations & Regulators(MCR), Public and International Law, Innovation and Intellectual Property(IP).
Thanks to agreements between partner universities, students graduate with credentials from each university they attend — making this a truly joint degree.
