Shauna Garland is a marketing specialist and key part of the University of Arizona Center for the Philosophy of Freedom, and she also works for the Philosophy Department and the Department of Political Economy and Moral Science in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Her responsibilities include marketing, event coordination, website management, tech support and administrative support. Shauna has been with the University since 2017.

Before moving to Tucson, Shauna earned a master’s degree in Mesoamerican Art History from Texas Tech University and a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her master’s thesis is titled “Road: Transportation or Transformation? Indigenous and Spanish mapping practices in the Relaciones Geográficas of 16th-Century New Spain”. As an undergrad, she worked part-time as a snowboard instructor at Breckenridge Colorado and also worked in the Electrical Engineering Department at CU.
