The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy recently featured the Freedom Center’s Take Charge Today program in its Financial Fridays newsletter on Oct. 24, 2025.

The free, research-based personal finance curriculum designed to help educators teach decision-making and financial capability through an engaging, hands-on approach was recognized by the Jump$tart Coalition for its leadership in advancing financial education nationwide.

In the feature, Tiffany Kiramidjian, Project Manager for Take Charge Today, discussed the program’s mission to support educators and promote financial literacy as a foundation for personal freedom and well-being—a shared goal with the Freedom Center.

As part of its ongoing commitment to accessibility and innovation, Take Charge Today is ensuring that all instructional materials meet accessibility standards and is developing a new website to make searching for lessons and resources more intuitive—while maintaining completely free access for educators. The program also continues to emphasize non-digital, interactive learning experiences such as the Schumer Box Human Dot Plot, Escape Rooms, and Clothespin Review activities that help students apply financial concepts in meaningful, memorable ways. When so many classroom tools are seeking out digital opportunities and engagements, this is a welcome break from screens for hands-on and active engagement with students.
