As Marketing and Communications Manager, Amee leads strategic communication efforts to promote the center’s research, initiatives, and events. Her background is in science communication, website and content management, and informal STEM education and outreach.
Prior to joining the center, Amee spent seven years as the Media Content Manager for the Wyant College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona. Before that, she served as the Education Director for the National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center, the Center for Integrated Access Networks (CIAN). In both positions, Amee was responsible for leading communications and content management efforts to ensure that the strategic initiatives for the units were communicated both internally and externally.
Amee holds an M.A. in professional writing from Northern Arizona University and a B.S. in physics and creative writing, with a minor in mathematics, from the University of Arkansas. Outside of work, she enjoys camping and hiking. She’s also an avid reader with a convenient marriage to a public librarian—ensuring a steady stream of book deliveries from her local library.
