The 2nd PPEL Undergraduate Summer School – created, developed, and organized by Mary Rigdon and Saura Masconale – took place at the University of San Diego June 4-7, 2024. The summer school is supported by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation(#62965) and is a collaboration with the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom and the Department of Political Economy and Moral Science at the University of Arizona, the University of San Diego’s Center for Ethics, Economics, & Public Policy, and Chapman University’s Smith Institute for Political Economy & Philosophy.
This four-day summer school featured foundational and topical interdisciplinary courses taught by top-tier faculty. The plenary lecture was given by Deirdre McCloskey. Courses were taught by Suzi Dovi (UA), Saura Masconale (UA), Mary Rigdon (UA), Simone Sepe (UA), Vlad Tarko (UA), John Thrasher (Chapman), Steve Wall (UA), Bart Wilson (Chapman) and Matt Zwolinski (USD). 40 undergraduates from 30 different universities attended.
