The Freedom Center hosted its inaugural “Create Your Own Campaign Contest” award ceremony on Tuesday, December 10th, 2025, celebrating the hard work of Tucson area high school students. The event, held at the Museum of Democracy exhibit within the campus store, recognized students who developed imaginative presidential campaign materials as part of a unique contest.
Students participating in the contest were challenged to design campaign posters outlining their platforms, focusing on three key issues they would address as President of the United States. They were also tasked with creating at least one promotional item, drawing inspiration from the Museum of Democracy.
The evening culminated in the awarding of prizes to three outstanding candidates. Connolly secured first place, impressing judges with her deeply considered platform and unique 3D merchandise: a custom-decorated sweatshirt. Second place went to the team of Maria and Adrianna, while Jordan earned third place honors. The winners received cash prizes of $500, $400, and $300 respectively. Special awards were also given to Maple, the youngest participant (age 11), and runner-up Raymond.
The Freedom Center team was very impressed with the work we received. Students demonstrated a remarkable level of creativity and embraced the spirit of the project.
The “Create Your Own Campaign” initiative was made possible through a partnership between the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom, the Arizona Board of Regents, the Museum of Democracy, and the Campus Store. The project reflects the shared commitment of these organizations to fostering civic engagement and encouraging constructive dialogue within the nation. The Freedom Center believes that initiatives like this help to cultivate the democratic process and inspire future generations.
