The Arizona Center for the Philosophy of Freedom is proud to announce the addition of David Keyt to its research faculty. After fifty-five years on the faculty of the University of Washington, David Keyt became an emeritus professor of philosophy at the beginning of 2013. He will now serve as a Research Professor at the Freedom Center.

While holding his faculty post in Seattle he was able to take leave to teach at Cornell University, the University of Hong Kong, Princeton University, and the Los Angeles and Irvine campuses of the University of California, and to hold research appointments at the Institute for Research in the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin, the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C., the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, and the Social Philosophy and Policy Center at Bowling Green State University. He is the author of Aristotle: Politics V and VI, Translation and Commentary (Clarendon Press, 1999) and co-editor with Fred D. Miller, Jr. of A Companion to Aristotle’s Politics (Blackwell, 1991) and Freedom, Reason, and the Polis: Essays in Ancient Greek Political Philosophy (Cambridge, 2007), as well as many articles on ancient and contemporary philosophy.
