An evening of connection and conversation brought together over 150 guests to explore the intersections of freedom, hospitality, and leadership alongside a powerful historical exhibit.

This co-hosted mixer saw people from many backgrounds connecting and engaging in meaningful conversations centered on the shared values of freedom, hospitality and leadership—principles rooted in openness and inclusion. More than just an evening of conversation, the mixer showcased the power of partnerships across disciplines. By blending academic insight, historical reflection, and industry expertise, the event highlighted how the values of freedom and hospitality intersect to foster innovation, opportunity, and understanding.

Guests gathered at the lower level of the University of Arizona Campus Store among the displays for the “You say you want a revolution?: Politics and Protests in the ’60s” exhibit, on loan from the Museum of Democracy, for a vibrant evening of networking, reflection, and discovery. Hosted by the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom, the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association (AzLTA) and the Museum of Democracy, an unlikely trio of collaborative partners, provided an evening for opportunity among professionals, faculty and staff to connect over shared interests.

While guests networked they explored the Museum of Democracy’s “You Say You Want a Revolution” exhibit, featuring a rare collection of presidential memorabilia that traces the evolution of American democracy. The exhibit provided a striking backdrop for dialogue on how democratic ideals continue to shape society and the hospitality industry today. The speaking program followed suit, featuring leadership from each organization co-hosting the event.
