The University of Arizona Center for the Philosophy of Freedom is proud to recognize the 2026 cohort of European Master in Law and Economics students as they complete the Arizona term of this distinguished international program. Launched in 1990, EMLE brings together law and economics through a global consortium of leading universities across Europe and beyond. The University of Arizona holds a unique place in this network as the only EMLE partner in the continental United States, offering students a rare opportunity to study American legal and economic systems in comparative perspective while completing the final stage of a truly global academic journey.
During their time in Tucson, EMLE students joined a vibrant intellectual community at the U of A, engaging with faculty, guest speakers, and courses available only through the Arizona program. As this cohort concludes its Arizona experience, their presence affirms the University of Arizona’s growing role in global graduate education and the value of bringing international students into conversation with American institutions, ideas, and communities.
Through EMLE, students are not only completing a master’s program across multiple countries and universities—they are helping shape a global conversation about how law and economics can respond to the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Learn more about Arizona’s role in EMLE here.
