On October 15, 2025 more than 50 attendees—including University of Arizona students, faculty, staff, and community members—gathered at the Student Union for a lively and engaging discussion on the importance of free enterprise.
Students, Staff, Faculty and Community Members Gathered for lunch and to learn about free enterprise and how it impacts our day-to-day lives with CSI Arizona's Executive Director, Katie Ratlief.
Hosted in collaboration between the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom and the Common Sense Institute (CSI) Arizona, the event featured CSI Arizona Executive Director Katie Ratlief, who explored how free enterprise, free markets, and capitalism impact everyday life and public policy in Arizona as well as beyond, into our country’s larger goals and vision.
The Q&A session was particularly active, with attendees asking thoughtful and relevant questions that sparked meaningful conversation—some of which continued past the end of the event. Participants had an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how a free enterprise system supports opportunity, prosperity, and innovation—both locally and globally—while fostering open dialogue across all viewpoints.
The Freedom Center would like to offer special thanks to Katie Ratlief for providing our community with lunch and offering her perspectives and knowledge in this open dialogue format.
